Although he broke into the music scene as the vocalist of several popular groups, PeeWee’s name carries its own weight both as a singer, due to the success of his first songs as a solo artist("Cumbaya", "Quedate", "Rompecabezas", "Irresistible" and "Tan Feliz"), and as an actor, with his role on Spanish-language soap opera Camaleones, which quickly earned him his first nomination for a TV y Novelas Mexico Award.

The stage and the limelight are a far cry from his humble beginnings in the small rural village of Othello, Washington where family reunions gave him the opportunity to sing in a group and soon enough music occupied a leading role in his heart. By this time his original name, (Irvin Salinas), was a name only his family used, because his new friends (all older than him), began to call him PeeWee. Audiences began to familiarize themselves with the name PeeWee when songs like “Sabes A Chocolate” and “Na Na Na Dulce Nina” started climbing the Billboard charts.

In 2006, after the separation of Kumbia Kings, he went on to be the main voice of Kumbia All Starz where he remained until the beginning of 2008. It was during his time in the group that the single “Chiquilla” reached the top spots Internationally. Finally, in early 2008, his life successes led him to a solo career. His first song as a solo artist, "Life is a Dance Floor", made its debut at Premios Juventud 2008 where its vibrant rhythms quickly resonated with the audience.  If there was any doubt of the impact of this new stage of his career, they were silenced when, in the fall of 2008, he appeared on the reality series "El Show de los Sueños" and emerged as the clear winner leading his team to win the million dollar grand prize.

A few months later, EMI Music signed him as an exclusive artist. His first CD titled "Yo Soy" featured the singles "Cumbaya", "Rompecabezas", "Irresistible", "Tan Feliz" and "Cameleones", which were performed by the great teen idol in the Spanish speaking soap opera "Camaleones". Cameleones has been edited and distributed for Six South American countries, United States, and Spain. With the promotion of his first solo album,PeeWee had the opportunity to tour all of Mexico, participate in Verizon’s contest, Yo Quiero Mis Quince, and take part in International Telethons such as SOMOS HAITI, UN CANTO A LA VIDA, and SOMOS EL MUNDO.  At the beginning of 2010, PeeWee became a McDonalds’s Ambassador during the FIESTA TOUR 2010, which allowed him to take his music to thousands of teenagers throughout the United States.

"I am convinced that it is important to finish high school. That is why I have visited several schools in the country to talk about all the doors education can open," he says.  In fact, he shared that one of his dreams is to enter a University and study Marketing. "Dreams do come true. Set goals. Pursue them one by one. And fight to get ahead, time is on our side" he advises today’s youth. The year of 2010 was crucial to his artistic evolution. He appeared in major events such as “Gracias Houston” and its City Festival on May 5 (before 20,000 people). He also became a member of LULAC (League of United Latin American citizens) and played his song "UNA VOZ UNA MANO" which was selected as the theme song for the campaign against the Bill SB 1070, which caused much controversy in Arizona. A few months later, the theme song was the opening song at the White House for Hispanic Heritage Month, where he had the honor of singing for President Barack Obama.

At the end of 2010, just on the verge of turning 22, the young artist released a new album, “Dejate Querer” a repertoire of eleven songs all focused around Love. Most  songs were composed by PeeWee alongside some of the today’s greatest talents. The album is a merger of Cumbias, modern rhythms, and the occasional ballad, building a versatile collection of music, where PeeWee's voice, not only pleases the ear, but fills each song with light.
