Nicaraguan salsa artist, Luis Enrique, earned 4 of these nominations, adding new honors to his successful career. The salsa prince received the following nominations: Album of the Year in the Tropical category for his CD ‘Ciclos’; Male Artist of the Year, Tropical Song of the Year for ‘Yo no sé mañana’ and Artist of the Year – Tropical salsa.
Luis Enrique was in Venezuela, in the midst of a promotional tour for his album ‘Ciclos’ when the nominations were announced, but he expressed his gratitude saying: “I am very happy with the nominations. This new album has brought many blessings in my career. I am thrilled with the results we have had with this new album and especially to see how the fans have supported my music once again. That has been the greatest gift by far”.
So far this year, Luis Enrique has been honored, in addition to these four nominations, with two Latin GRAMMY® awards for Best Tropical Song and Best Salsa Album. ‘Ciclos’ has been a monumental success for both the Luis Enrique and his record label Top Stop Music, headed by legendary music producer Sergio George, all of whom join in with the artist in celebrating these remarkable achievements.
