Miami, Florida - Prince Royce’s self-titled debut album has been certified Gold in the United States and Puerto Rico according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
“I am so happy about this recognition; surprised that it has happened so quickly in my career and extremely grateful for my fans who consistently support me, request my songs and buy my records,” expressed the young Dominican American singer-songwriter upon learning the news.
In just a few short months, Prince Royce has succeeded in garnering radio airplay and the top spots on the most important charts in the industry with this first album, which dropped on March 2, 2010.
“Stand by Me”, the first single off “Prince Royce”, recently reached #1 on Tropical Radio as well as #1 in Digital Tropical Single sales. The track has received such wide acceptance that besides being played on Spanish-language and bilingual radio stations in the United States, it is also getting significant airplay on top Hip Hop/Popular music stations in the country, marking the first time Bachata is played on English-language radio.
The album’s follow-up single “Corazón Sin Cara” has just been released on US Latin radio and is already Top Ten in Tropical radio in the country, joining “Stand By Me”, which still holds one of the top spots on the chart.
Prince Royce is signed to the Top Stop Music label, owned by Gregory Elias and renown music producer Sergio George, with Sony Music distribution in the US, Puerto Rico and Mexico. In Spain, Prince Royce’s self-titled debut album is available under the Blue Moon Records label; in Italy, France and Switzerland under the Planet Records label; and in Colombia under the Codiscos label.
